Connect Alexa to Wi-Fi

The Amazon Echo device is a smart speaker that does multiple things for you making your daily activities easier. It is voice controlled and responds to the word “Alexa”. Play music of your choice, get information from the internet, have the news or weather report read out aloud, control your smart home and many more things by just using your voice to control the device. It is a must to have set up Alexa to Wi-Fi network at all times. Have a look at the following to steps to connect Alexa to Wi-Fi and get started:

Setup Echo To Wifi
  1. Ensure that your Amazon Echo device is connected to a power outlet at all times for use.
  2. Download the Alexa App on your smart phone or tablet, create an Alexa account and sign in.
  3. Go to the settings section in the left panel of the Alexa App once you have connect Alexa to Wi-Fi
  4. Choose the “set up a new device” option
  5. To switch on your Echo device, press and hold the action button and wait for the ring light to turn orange and Alexa to greet you. Your smart phone or tablet will not get connected to your echo device
  6. Choose your home network from the list of wi-fi networks made available to you and connect Alexa to Wi-Fi
  7. Punch in the wi-fi network password to set up Alexa to Wi-fi and get connected. If you are unable to find your network, refresh and scan again. To make sure you do not make any mistakes in typing your password, choose the “show password” option
  8. Tap connect and your Echo device will be connected to your Wi-Fi network. Once you get a confirmation message, your set up Alexa to Wi-fi is complete.
